integrating psychodynamics, cultural context & medical knowledge

The only real voyage consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes;

In seeing the universe through the eyes of another, one hundred others;

In seeing the hundred universes that each of them sees.

Therapeutic philosophy:

My approach to psychotherapy is based on empathy and respect for each person’s unique path. Compassion, sensitive collaboration and respect for confidentiality are central to my work. Because the mind, brain and body are intertwined, I use an integrated model that incorporates psychodynamic understanding, cultural context and medical knowledge.

My practice reflects my many years of experience teaching physician empathy-based doctor-patient communication skills, behavioral and addiction medicine, cultural sensitivity and health behavior change counseling.
